Social Language Groups

Social Language Group Therapy

We have the privilege of working with The Chasing Hazel Foundation, an incredible not for profit organization in the Windsor Community that supports the success and growth for individuals with Down Syndrome. We have uniquely designed interactive speech groups that center around social-emotional communication and motor speech development for children with Down Syndrome. Chasing Hazel Foundation offers a ton of specialized programming for families. Check out their website for more information & help support this amazing organization.

Social Communication Groups

There is more to communication than just talking. It is about using your language to achieve outcomes and communicate with friends. When your child is able to share and communicate with others and their environment, it opens up a whole new world for them and feeds their cognitive system.

Friend Group (Younger Children)

Therapy focuses on social communication goals & incorporates individual speech goals into each session. Parents will be involved & given tools and activities to practice in their daily routines. Each participant leaves our group with a report which very clearly outlines specific and functional speech goals and ways to implement at home.

Social Group (Teens & Young Adults)

Our older groups focus on conversational skills, friendship and interaction skills, perspective taking, emotion awareness, emotional regulation, planning and management skills and much more. During each group we try to integrate one outing in the community to allow an opportunity for the teens to implement skills taught in therapy into real life.
